The 23rd Virginia Infantry: Participated in more than seventy engagements during the war leaving only 55 of 1,049 members remaining to be paroled at Appomattox Court House on April 9, 1865
The Louisa Blues: Company "D" of the 13th Virginia Infantry which mustered into service 87 men on July 1, 1861
The Louisa Rifles: Company "A" of the 23rd Virginia Infantry which mustered 105 men into service on July 1, 1861
The Louisa Grays: Company "D" of the 23rd Virginia Infantry which mustered 66 men into service on June 30, 1861
The Fredricks Hall Grays: Company "G" of the 23rd Virginia Infantry which mustered 148 men into service on May 1, 1861
The Louisa Holiday Guard: Company "C" of the 56th Virginia Infantry which mustered 67 men into service on July 9, 1861
The Louisa Nelson Grays: Company "F" of the 56th Virginia Infantry which mustered 54 men into service on July 25, 1861
