Title

Women in carriage at Westend

Subject

Life at Westend Farm in Louisa County

Description

Women in a carriage, likely Virginia Taylor (to be Mrs. W.B. Syndor) and a friend, up to visit their aunts Nancy and Lucy Taylor, who had a life interest in Westend. Virginia's father, Henry Taylor III, was a brother of the Nancy and Lucy and had grown up at Westend. When he became a lawyer and established his home on Monument Avenue in Richmond, he often took his children, including Virginia, to spend summers at Westend. This photo was likely taken in the late 1910s.
